Happy Mother’s Day?

Updated: Dec 11, 2019

Can I be honest? Mother’s Day was glorious, it really was, however, Sunday is the day that I usually make sure all of the laundry is done, the breakfast bars are made, if you haven’t heard about my breakfast bars, here you go! On Sundays, I go to Costco and Publix to make sure that we have the food for lunches and dinners for the week ahead AND I usually get some much needed down time in, either reading or going for a walk or just watching Netflix. I have learned, over time, that I HAVE TO take time out for me, Mother’s Day turned out to be a lot of time for others and I missed my down day!

I want to give you just a sample of how this week has played out so far, in my life, and why downtime is such an important part of my week. Monday, two of my kids were singing in the school talent show at 4:30PM, we had no food in the house or dinner planned ( because of Mother’s Day) and they didn’t get home until 7. I was as nervous as they were about their performances!!! I felt like a run out dish rag when they were done on that stage, but NO REST FOR THE WEARY!! After their performance, I had to rush out the door to escort my oldest to the Academic Awards Ceremony at her high school, and we didn’t get home until 9PM. This was only Monday.

Do you ever feel this way? Like you’re cramming so much into each day and if you get off track, just a bit, it can all fall apart? Many of us are running on empty and it’s not healthy. I see patients, mostly female, on a weekly basis who are suffering from symptoms like insomnia, inability to lose weight, anxiety, depression, chronic head aches, no sex drive, and chronic inflammation. Most of these symptoms are caused by high levels of cortisol and intense adrenal fatigue, the result of many years of that go, go, go mentality.

Ladies, we HAVE to take time for ourselves! We have to eat right, we have to sleep and we have to, HAVE TO refuel. This is why I have designed a new workshop, just for us, women only, to do nothing, NOTHING but refuel. You deserve some time and an investment in yourself.

On June 8th, I am hosting a Saturday afternoon workshop designed just for women who need a time out for themselves. No matter what your struggle might be, no matter where you are in your life journey, no matter if you have kids or not, and no matter what your age, you can be a part of this.

I have incorporated so many beautiful self care modalities into this beautiful workshop that we are going to be blissed out until next Mother’s Day!

Here’s what’s in store for the “She Is Ignited” workshop.

June 8th, 2-5PM, at my clinic, Calm Community Acupuncture, in Safety Harbor, FL.

First, we will all have a chance to share and be heard, women really need this. Then, we’re going to do some journal work, guided by questions that will encourage you to open up and release, and then, some inspiring questions that will ignite you into feeling grounded and purposeful. We will enjoy a session of restorative yoga poses, with a blissful acupuncture treatment during savasana. Finally, we will enter into two sacred ceremonies, cacao ( a natural, chocolate elixir) and a Despacho ceremony, steeped in shamanic tradition and a wonderful, joyful way to end our workshop! Weather permitting, we will head out for a 3 block walk to a bon fire, which will be the culmination of our “She is Ignited” workshop.

I want to keep this intimate, so I am limiting the number of participants, if you would like to be a part of this event, please register HERE!

I’m really looking forward to this and I hope to see you there!
